Wine Bottle Packaging Research

I wanted to take a look at wine bottle packaging as well as beer bottles, as I think the look of wine bottles are sometimes looked upon as more glamorous and 'up market' like when you go to a dinner party, you would take a bottle of wine. Because of this, they also make some very beautiful packaging, as well as the standard.

I liked the way the door opened on this packaging. Using wood as a material, makes the product look more high end. The sliding, almost brings an experience to the user, as you slide up revealing the bottle from bottom to top.

This was an interesting set of packaging, it is showing a variety of styles and sizes. I thought this was interesting to see as I liked the way they protected the item, with molded card, that fits the shape of the bottle, and supports it through travel.

This was just a fun idea I saw, the idea of make one bottle stand in the center of the packaging, suggesting importance and expense. If I saw this, I would instantly thing this bottle of wine is expensive, because why else would it be centered in its own packaging, with simple style of card, so the viewer only concentrates on the bottle itself and nothing else.

I really liked the opening of this box, I think it is very smooth and nice looking. Again it is like an experience when opening the box. Something that should be thought about when buying expensive bottles. I am not sure of the material, or how it is attached to create the opening, but it would be something to be looking into.

I thought this was an interesting image, as it shows how the box was constricted. Maybe without glue(?) (something on the brief). I think it looks like a very smart box and sturdy, though I am unsure how this could be expanded into six bottles.

This was an interesting way of packaging, using congregated card to create an opening at the bottle, almost so that the bottom half is a display, while you can simply take off the top (the part that is mostly protecting the bottles in transport).

This was an interesting way of packaging a bottle, it looks nice and intreging. The square card on each stage of the bottle, created protection around the edge, ensure it will not bang into something. Though from the top it is not protected so i'm not sure how it would work when being transport.

This last bottle box shows an interesting second use for the box, which is a big part of my brief. This i such a simple way of creating a second use. It is made of wood by the look of it, though maybe I could explore what other materials could be used to make this in a different way.

The research I have done with the wine boxes as opened my eyes to different ways of making packaging, in a nice looking way of transporting the bottles. It also shows different opening, and even a secondary use.
