Trash + IKEA + Design = eco-cheap chic

Petz Scholtus, an eco-designer, first brought her Barcelon apartment in 2006, which it had no plumbing or electricity. Scholtus explains how she upcycled or recycled items she found around her home. The dinning table is made from a piece of glass that was already in the apartment, which the builders were going to throw away, but she got some painting ladders and made them into legs and put under the glass.

This was a very interesting video, as at first it seems like her apartment is fully of designer objects, but when she gets into explaining where the things came from and why she chose that particular company (usually because they are eco-friendly or have eco-procedures to help towards the environment. Items she had found on the streets, like the chair she had covered in old newspaper and the lamps she made from jerry cans, open your eyes to things that could be used for something new and have a completely different purpose to what it was intended.
